Louis Van Gaal will face increased pressure to keep Angel Di Maria at Manchester United after Paris Saint Germain have been let loose on the transfer market.
The French Ligue 1 champions have seen their UEFA Financial Fair Play restrictions lifted. They were originally limited to a £42.5m budget this summer but are now free to go for what many believe to be PSG’s main target in the British record of £59.7m Di Maria.
The French club received the good news yesterday after discussions with UEFA that they shouldn’t face further punishment in light of the new relaxed Financial Fair Play rules.
This verdict could also be good news for United’s neighbours. Manchester City are facing restrictions in the transfer market in similar vein to last season, meaning City’s rebuilding plans could be jeopardized.
